Tangled Fates is the fifty-fourth chapter of the Cardfight!! Vanguard Manga, first published in Monthly Bushiroad magazine and later collected in Volume 10.
This chapter was adapted into episode 44 of the Cardfight!! Vanguard V Series anime.
Plot[]
An image of Takuto encourages Aichi to aid him in taking control of Earth and Cray's destiny, and the zombified Aichi awakens to carry out his will. Naoki attempts to prevent him from leaving the infirmary, but Aichi coldly tells Naoki not to touch him so casually. He says that Naoki has already lost his usefulness as a zombie, and leaves the room despite Naoki's further protests.
At the Tatsunagi house, Takuto continues to gloat that he now controls the most powerful PSY Qualia user, and that now no one will be able to resist him. Misaki asks him who exactly he is, and he declares himself the master of all Vanguard's forces of fate. He remarks that, for some reason, Kourin was reluctant to spread the PSY Qualia infection, and Misaki demands that he release her. He agrees to do so, on the condition that Misaki defeat him in a fight, but warns her that doing so would cause Kourin to lose her memories.
Meanwhile, Kai declares to Ren and the others at Card Capital that he intends to go and save Aichi. Ren warns him that Aichi's PSY Qualia may be even more powerful in his zombie state, and Tetsu suggests that they work out a plan to defeat Takuto and Ultra Rare instead. At that, Ren admits that Aichi has been on his mind too, and decides to go with Kai to find him.
As they exit the shop, Miwa arrives with Ibuki in tow. Kai is shocked to see his old friend, and Ren identifies him as the one who severed Tetsu's bond with his vanguard. Kai says that the two of them are going to find the zombified Aichi, but Ibuki steps in, refusing to allow them to leave without defeating him in a fight.
