The Strength I Possess Now is the seventy-first chapter of the Cardfight!! Vanguard Manga, first published in Monthly Bushiroad magazine and later collected in Volume 12.
This chapter was partially adapted into episodes 50 and 51 of the Cardfight!! Vanguard V Series anime.
Plot[]
Wandering Starhulk Deity, Brandt Ringer destroys Aichi's rear guards and attacks, his vanguard saved only by a perfect guard. The Destiny Conductor tells him that he is only prolonging the inevitable, and that Cray will soon fall to Brandt.
Aichi recalls the Conductor's saying, "the weak are meat, and the strong do eat", interpreting it as originating from the process of carnivores feeding on herbivores. Running away is the only resistance that herbivores can manage, the Conductor says, and deems them pathetic. Aichi contends that running is a form of struggle too, and that even though in the past he would have simply waited to be eaten, he now possesses the strength to do something else. Determined to protect the light that Vanguard gave him, Aichi once again strides Arc Saver Dragon.
Using Arc Saver's skill, Aichi calls Blaster Javelin, who appears in his image as Naoki. In the real world, Naoki announces that he won't let Aichi fight alone anymore.
