This blog post is to help share ideas about Aqua Force before the release of G Clan Booster 2: Commander of the Incessant Waves and ideas after its release. I want to try making a Blue Storm Break Ride /Legion deck similar to my Demetrius /Michael deck with Maelstrom Break Ride Version instead of Demetrius to make use of the new supports.

First decklist - This is my current deck:

G4: 4 Tidal bore , 3 Sokrates , 1 Madew (I don't have Lambros so I'll leave it at that)

G3: 3 Demetrius, 4 Michael, 1 Lysandros

G2: 3 Gregorios , 4 Milos , 4 Spyros

G1: 3 Electra , 1 Icefall , 4 Blader , 4 Boarder , 2 Jellyfish

G0: 1 Erikk (G3 Searcher), 4 Mallika (Draw ), 2 Doria (Draw), 4 Despina (Critical ), 2 Jet-ski (Critical) 4 Kitchen (Heal )

Results of the first deck: The first deck runs in the hope that it makes 4 Waves (battles) to gain restanding benefits from Michael and the bonus Draw 2, Retire 1 from Demetrius' Break Ride. The best advantage I saw on the setup is the good use of the restanders (Lysandros, Michael, Milos, and Spyros) switchers (Boarder, and Michael), beaters (Gregorios), boosters (Blader, and Mallika), and Counter Chargers (Jellyfish). The deck can be quite flexible to field control to some degree. On the downside, it forces you to think twice with what cards to guard with since you are likely to need all your cards in hand and in the field. Normally in AqF, one mistake can mean your whole setup fails but this deck tries to help fix any setup mishaps dring the Main Phase and Battle Phase from my experience.

Second decklist - So far, this is my planned deck when G-CB02 comes out:

G4: 4 Mael , 4 Thavas (Cipher code, and Daxana suggests replacing Mael with 2 Tidal bore and 2 Aristoteles )

G3: 3 Mael BR, 4 Michael, 1 Lysandros

G2: 3 Limpia , 4 Milos, 4 Spyros

G1: 3 Choralia , 4 Homeros , 2 Blader, 3 Blue Storm Penguin , 2 Jellyfish

G0: 1 Erikk (G3 Searcher), 4 Mallika (Draw), 4 Doris (Stand ), 4 Despina (Critical), 4 Medic (Heal)

My afterthoughts:

G4: Sure Lambros is a staple in AqF but I personally like Thavas' ability to make 4 battles efficiently and I'll be dealing with a lot of field control in my place. If I had to put Lambros, I'd drop 2 Mael for 2 Lambros and leave Thavas as it is.

G3: I replaced Demetrius with Mael BR mainly to make good use of the Despina and Choralia. Lysandros is there in case I have to deal with Crossride shields since using Blader or Mallika on him would let him swing at a Cross Ride alone and still hit. Time and time again, it works wonders.

G2: Since I'm maining Legion here, I forced myslef not to add Rascal Sweeper despite how great it works. I'll have consistency isses here since I'll be in desparate need of Lysandros and Spyros without Legion making Milos and Limpia 9k vanilla beat sticks. Another problem with the deck is that it can't rush on G2 with Spyros demanding a G3 Vanguard for his skill to work and the other two as mentioned previously. I do enjoy imagining what it would do on Legion.

G1: My next problem is dropping my copies of Tempest Blader from 4 to 2 because I was trying to work on riding Mael BR before Michael as top priority. Another problem will be the lack of efficient switchers like Boarder to make room for Mael supports. I do like the Penguin and Homeros a lot but I can't bring myself to replace Electra even with Homeros' good use of the Soul with its Soul Blast . I needed to replace Icefall Dragon for the same reason why I needed to replace Electra. Like my old setup, I'll make sure to use my Counter Blast little by little as long as I don't have Jellyfish in hand. I can't run Shark since I'm maining Legion I'm afraid.

G0: Since Doris is confirmed to need the 1st Wave attacking a vanguard, I thought it'd make pretty good use of Lysandros and Spyros' 1st or 2nd wave requisite well and that 5k bonus will do wonders in the deck. Aside that, It'll be great for powering up Milos in case I lack Counter Blast, Mallika, and/or Blader. Despina is there for Mael BR, and Mallika is too important to me despite I adore Doria's artwork so much. I like both Blue Storm Heals so I can always add both of them for fun. The G3 starcher stays in case the worst happens or I can allow myself to put the G3s back in the deck during the first 5 card draws at the start of the game to make way for more G1s and G2s.

I greatly appreciate Demetrius but I can't ignore all the good supports for Mael. I've tested my deck (The first decklist) with other AqF players in my place and they strongly suggest I'd run cards like Tidal Assault and Magnum Assault which is something I'm trying to avoid since I want to run those in a Genovious or Thavas deck and I only have 2 copies of Tidal Assault (It's tough finding a seller in my place). Finally, the usual get Lambros tip (which is harder to find than Tidal Assault).

Suggestions from other players for the Second decklist:

G4: Mael , 4 Thavas (Cipher code, and Daxana suggests replacing Mael with 2 Tidal bore and 2 Aristoteles )

G3: 3 Mael BR, 4 Michael, 1 Lysandros (Daxana suggests replacing Lysandros with  Diamantes which Cipher code disagrees on)

G2: G2: 3 Limpia , 4 Milos, 4 Spyros (Daxana suggests replacing Spyros with 4 Starless if I'll keep Lysandros but it's all a matter of preference considering that I'll focus on Legion more)

G1: 3 Choralia , 4 Homeros , 2 Blader, 3 Blue Storm Penguin , 2 Jellyfish

G0: 1 Erikk (G3 Searcher), 4 Mallika (Draw), 4 Doris (Stand ), 4 Despina (Critical), 4 Medic (Heal)

So far, the major changes made are just the strides and the Wave 4 enablers. I invite everyone to make their own deckbuilds not limited to the AqF cards posted above for us to talk about.

I hope to see the insights of all fellow players in the hope that we get a better understanding of Aqua Force and Vanguard in general.
